About New England Fire News.com

New England Fire News (NEFN) New England Fire News is a service that provides notification of working police, fire and rescue incidents throughout the United States in real time as they are happening.

  • HOW DOES NEFN WORK? NEFN has volunteer dispatchers from all over the New England region who monitor police and fire department radio traffic and send out notifications as incidents are happening. When an incident is sent out for an area you have subscribed to, you will receive the notification immediately through your wireless device. You have total control over what you receive and when you receive it, and you can change your settings any time right here on our web site.
  • WHAT TYPES OF INCIDENTS WILL I BE NOTIFIED ABOUT? The NEFN dispatch team sends out alerts on newsworthy police, fire and rescue incidents once an incident is confirmed by on scene personnel. Such incidents include working structure fires, major traffic accidents, SWAT team call-outs, search & rescue operations, plane crashes and more.
  • CAN I CONTROL WHAT TYPES OF INCIDENTS I RECEIVE? Yes. NEFN uses a CAD system that will allow you to set the incident notification of your liking. This gives you complete control over not only the types of incidents you receive, but the cities/counties you receive them from. You can log into your NEFN account at any time and modify your settings, and all changes take effect immediately.
  • DOES NEFN OFFER ALPHA PAGING SERVICE? NO. We do not have any plans to offer this service. You must use a mobile device that has the ability to receive emails in order to get this FREE service.
  • IS THERE A FEE FOR THIS SERVICE? NO. As a hobby, the volunteer dispatchers do this for fun. That means we have a passion to get the information correct the first time. Yes this also means that some of the incidents we send out are delayed to ensure the incident meets our standards. We will NEVER send out any sensitive information regarding LODD, members injured or SWAT/PD incidents. It is our mission to keep those members and their families privacy as priority #1
  • HOW DO I SIGN UP? Click here to go to our subscription page, and complete the requested information. During the subscription process you will be given the option to receive alerts on your wireless device or via email.
